Immediate mental health support.
I'm Gray. Here's what to know about peer support with me:
- I offer one-on-one support for peers in crisis and trauma recovery through Porch Light. I can:
- Meet with you regularly as an ongoing peer support partnership
- Talk and sit with you on the phone or on video in moments of crisis
- Work with you on creating a safety (see below) and harm reduction plan
- I can offer peer support based on lived experiences with:
- CPTSD, childhood abuse/DV, self-harm, and trauma recovery
- Career burnout recovery and trauma history related chronic illness
- Chronic suicidal ideation and complicated or prolonged grief
- Political, religious, and purity culture deconstruction
- Sexuality, gender, and relationship style discovery
- My approach to peer support is informed by Wildflower Alliance training, parts work, and internal family systems. I prioritize curiosity, discovery, and play to help engage parts.
- You can reach me by email ([email protected]) to ask questions or get started. I generally respond within 48 hours. See above for immediate mental health support.
About sessions and scheduling:
- My hours for sessions are Monday-Thursday 6-9 p.m. and Friday 1-6 p.m. Out-of-hours sessions may be accommodated upon request.
- Sessions are mostly virtual. We can use a combination of video call, audio call, Signal messaging, and voice messaging. I also enjoy (covid safer) walk-and-talk peer support! We can meet in a park, walk a dog, or go for an errand.
- Porch Light sessions are offered on a sliding scale:
- Full session rates are suggested for employed, well-resourced, and white-privileged clients. These rates are $80 for 30-min sessions and $100 for 50-min sessions.
- Sliding scale begins at $40 for 30-min sessions and $50 for 50-min sessions.
- No one is turned away for lack of funds. If sliding scale rates aren’t accessible, scholarship sessions are available for clients in need.
Notes on safety:
I am not a mandated reporter. I am not a licensed social worker or therapist. I will not call the police. I have made the conscious and intentional choice to offer peer support in resistance, rather than become licensed through systems in the carceral pipeline.
Providing peer support enables me to recommend resources and networks outside of harmful institutions. I believe safety planning is only effective when it accounts for and avoids state violence, especially for multiply marginalized folks of the global majority.
One of the first things we'll do is create a safety plan specifically for you, based on what you've discovered helps keep you safe. I encourage you to share this safety plan with others in your support system!
